Hazhir Asadi’s 'The Rotation’ will be screened next week at the event which is currently underway in the US.
The film is about two tribes who are engaged in a war due to a dispute over the possession of the sun in the sky.
The war led to the destruction of the sun and the eruption of a volcano.
The lava left members of the two tribes dead and formed a new sun.
“Several centuries pass and the humans are still in a war to claim the sun in the sky,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Earlier reports said ‘Before Darkness’ by Mosayyeb Hanaee is also participating at the PJIFF.
The PJIFF promotes “inclusion, diversity, and women empowerment”; educates people of all ages about filmmaking; and encourages everyone to “find their voice through film”, an online submission platform reads.
The 15th edition of the festival opened on Wednesday and will run until April 13.
